Questions about little or no appetite for sex

Questions that you can ask yourself if you have little or no appetite for sex:

  • Do you ever find people around you sexually attractive?
  • Do you ever find things that stimulate you sexually when you are reading, surfing the Internet or watching TV?
  • Do you ever go looking for a situation or an image that will stimulate you sexually?
  • Do you ever have sexual fantasies?
  • Which situations or stimuli used to arouse desire in you? Are those stimuli still there? Or do you try to avoid them now? Do you do that on purpose?
  • If you still have sex: How do you experience the sex? What do you feel? If you don’t have sex: How did you experience it in the past? Was it positive and satisfying or mostly negative and disappointing? Did you get an erection? Did you become wet?
  • Has it ever happened that you were not really in the mood to begin with, but that you became sexually aroused while you were being stimulated sexually – in the process, as it were? If that is the case, then you can also take the initiative for sex, even if you are not already aroused from the start.
  • Is it a problem for you personally that you are less often in the mood for sex? Or is the real problem that your partner is more interested in sex than you are?
